Nazih Fino, M.A., GISP, has 12 years of experience in managing and developing cutting-edge GIS web-mobile applications, and in developing, implementing and maintaining GIS databases. Among his many other GIS responsibilities, Mr. Fino prepares GIS-based maps for use in WSA’s projects to assess and analyze technical issues and to facilitate project decisions. As WSA’s GIS Manager, Nazih’s responsibilities include utilizing GIS Spatial Analysis, Geo Statistical Analysis, and 3D Analyst software extensions, Geo-reference and digitizing historic maps, preparing environmental resource inventories, conducting grading analysis, visual analysis, 3D visualization, impact analysis, modeling (resource prediction, and identification of archeologically sensitive areas), automated mapping, Geo-processing data using Model Builder, and in collecting and converting surveying data from GPS/Total Station instrumentation for mapping purposes. Nazih received a Master of Archaeology degree from Jordan University (Amman) in 1997, and in 2005, received a Master of Urban Planning degree from San Jose State University (CA), with an emphasis in GIS planning applications, computer urban design, environmental, land use and urban planning. Prior to working at WSA, he gained experience in geographic information systems development while working in the Data Management Division of the City Planning Department of the City of San Jose, California. Nazih is fluent in Arabic.
